Scriptwriting & Storyboarding Ikea Mod Install

Mariela is obsessively scriptwriting these days. She keeps me inspired in a time that I really could use it. She’s following the “Save the Cat” methodology, so I’ve tried to fashion a script board for her a number of times, but have finally nailed it…thx to none other than…Ikea. Surprise!

It turns out that these two magnetic boards are PERFECTLY long enough when put together to fit 10 notecards in four act sections, and even room at the end for two Ikea magnet boxes–one holds blank notecards and the other holds pens!  Then I decided to create nice clean “act line separators” using black emroidery thread, glued to tiny super strong magnets.  So they are completely removable! (order from MagnetMan on Amazon! CHEAP!).

Then, of course, I decided that since she’s used to having a cork board (albeit way too small), that I should fashion some magnetic pushpins to complete the project!

Magnetic Pushpins Magnetic Pushpins
I just used regular old clear pushpins, ripped their pointers off with needle-nose pliers, and glued a super strong magnet on the end.  Some didn’t break perfectly so the pins kind of stick out at different angles because of the nub left and I actually think it’s pretty perfect since it looks like they’re really stuck in the metal board. Ha!  Genius.

Good luck on all your writings ma’lady.  I can’t wait to switch and start storyboarding the script(s) you finish! :D
